Shen Yu-Rung, born in 1988 in Kaohsiung, holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of Art Creation and Theory at Tainan National University of the Arts. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Photography and VR Design at Huafan University and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Graduate Institute of Applied Arts, Tainan National University of the Arts.

 

Previously, he served as a guest editor for 《ACT: Art Critique》 of Taiwan and 《Xinpang Re》. He has curated exhibitions such as “Return and Backflow”, “We Are Born by the River: Collaborative Notes of Millennium River Basin Culture—Gaze at Kunshen”, “Transistors”, “The ＳStill Force of Images", “Exhilarate—Blur: The Vibration from Images of Archive”, and “Nephelpito's Gaze”.

 

His primary research interests include the aesthetics of images, photography and film theory, visual culture studies, and theories of contemporary art.
