Born in Busan, Korea. Area Park studied photojournalism and documentary photography in undergraduate and graduate schools.

 

Exhibitions: <City we have known> National Museum of modern and contemporary Art Korea, 2015; <Way of Photography: Finding an Album in Miyagi> Hermes Atelier, 2012; <Bang-Rang-Ki>, Goeun Museum of Photography, 2013; <Boys in the City>, Kumho Museum, 2006; He also has held solo exhibitions 10 times and exhibited in Gwangju Biennale, Daegu Photo Biennale, Arles Photo festival and in the United States, Germany, France, Russia, China, Japan, Vietnam, etc. Moreover, he has participated group exhibitions of more than 100 times.

 

From 2011 until now, Area Park has been photographing around the damaged area of the Great East Japan Earthquake. All of this series of the works are done organizedly, and the exhibition was held in the first half of 2015 in National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. His work is in the permanent collections in the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, GMOMA, Goeun Museum of Photography and UBS Art Collection. Currently, he is photographing between Japan and South Korea.
