CHEN Chia-Chi, Director of the Chiayi Art Museum, is a researcher specializing in the history of photography. She holds a Ph.D. in Taiwanese Literature from National Cheng Kung University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Multiple-Cultural Studies at NCKU, an assistant researcher at the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, an editor for ARTCO, an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Film & TV at I-Shou University, a member of the research project History Outline of Taiwanese Photography at the National Taiwan Museum, and a selection committee member for the international competition of the Taiwan International Documentary Festival from 2016 to 2024. Her research interests include the history of photography, documentary films, visual culture, and the theory of modern and contemporary literature. She authored the book Taiwanese Photographer: Hwang Pai-Chi (2017), and her critical writings and articles have been published in Voice of Photography, Art Critique of Taiwan, and FA: Film Appreciation Journal.
