Hsieh Chun-Te has been active in International art scenes since 1970. In addition to exhibited in Europe and the United States, he also exhibited in art fairs such as Art Basel. His participation in the Venice Biennale 2011 has brought surprises to the international audiences. French media La Libération wrote that “the gloomy and melancholic black and white photographic works are arranged around the venue, like an epic which blends the loss of Taiwan in the modernization process over the past 25 years: food, sacrifice, blood, sex and death.... The unbearable disturbing obsession of the image prevents us from getting out of the exhibition hall without being moved. Hsieh has won the attention from Europe, he was one of the few research objects of "Visual Art/Photographic View Generation" by the research group headed by Monique Sicard (Institut des TEXTES ET MANUSCRITS MODERNES, researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research). Monique Sicard's team went to Taiwan to shoot Hsieh Chun-Te's documentary for ARTE (German and French) TV station from 2013 to 2015.
